What a glamourous evening in Hollywood . Everything old is new again, in movies & in the fashion. We loved the 'old hollywood glam' look that most of the stars chose. Color blocking, 1940' hair and Peplums were huge on the red carpet. The gorgeous shine to Stacy Keibler's Marchesa dress was right on trend with what we will be seeing for spring 2012.

Did you notice all the white? Absolutely stunning on Gwyneth Paltrow (Tom Ford Collection) & Milla Jovovich (Elie Saab).

Trend Report: Color Blocking

A trend that we've seen in previous seasons is back and brighter then ever. This spring is all about Color. It's the perfect season to embrace mixing and matching your favourite bright shades.

How to wear it: Think shades in similar color palettes. Our favourite combo right now is mixing orange and pink ( best dressed woman on our previous buy was seen wearing coral jeans, pink blouse and a yellow statement necklace). Never mix more then 3 colors as it has a tendency to break up your body, the goal is still to create a long lean look. Solid bold colors are the best way to keep this look classic yet fun. Keep your shoes solid and why not try this seasons must have nude pump to bring in some neutral tones.

Most importantly...just have fun with color this spring!

JET SETTING

It's that time of year where we escape the cold of our winter climates and jet off to a tropical land far far away. If your anything like us it's hard to decide exactly what to pack. It always seems as if we pack to much and end up wearing half of our options. But that's just it you still need options. The other night my hubby and I found ourselves watching a movie called Midnight In Paris. I have to say the only thing that got me through was the amazing costuming that portrayed the 20's beautifully. I wanted to jump into the TV screen, slip on a flapper dress and dance the night away.

This movie brought back so many memories to the days I studied the fabulous era at Blanche Macdonald. I was always fascinated with the women, clothing and way of life. I was especially fascinated with Coco Chanel (still am).

It's that time of year where the fashion world reveals the top trends & colors for Spring 2012. The homepage of style.com featured 6 main trends today that are to die for. My favourite of course was Deco Echoes! A throw back to the roaring 20's of Art Deco & Flapper Dresses.

After all the bubbly, tasty food and giggles with family & friends the January blues are about to set in. The days are feeling shorter, the snow is falling and the chill is beginning to set in. In the fashion industry we are now looking towards Spring/Summer collections. It was an exciting day when Pantone announced the number one color of the season, Tangerine Tango. The sunshine isn't far away and the first thing we'll be wearing is something bright & something tangerine!
