THIS WEEK ON BT
PART 1: Everyone may agree that footwear is always the best kind of shopping and the most fun! Shoes are pivotal in any woman's closet with the power to transform your complete look and lets be honest, our moods as well. There's nothing like the feeling of putting on your favourite or new pair of shoes and challenging the day with our killer outfits! This week we started off our two part series TGIFashion Fridays with Breakfast Television on core footwear trends where Nicola explains metallics, laser cut-outs, embellishments and finally the must have style this season!
Watch Nicola and Courtney show us these styles sponsored by Town Shoes here.
PART 2: The big topic we tackle next is the ever so bold bottoms we're seeing this season. Nicola talked about colour, pattern and the 70's era flare thats back in full force! With all the options available for these trends, find one you love or want to try to tastefully switch up your usual spring/summer looks. Get all the info by clicking on the link and listening to Nicola's favourite ways to wear and style these bottoms here.
As always we have a blast doing BT especially when we bump into fellow friends  Laura and Susan from Golden Girl Financial on our way off set! These ladies are taking the financial market by storm offering sound advice to ladies everywhere who need education on topics from the basics of budgeting day to day to the importance of how to manage our current and future investments. With 1 book already under their belt and many confrences spoken country wide, these women have managed to explain to us in a practical manner, how to be smart about our finances.

Watch their clip on Breakfast Television HERE to get a sneak peak at the overview of their 2nd book "10 Ways to Stay Broke...Forever" which will be launching at McNally Robinson's Monday April 22nd at 7:00pm!

Have a great weekend!

MAD THROUGH INSTAGRAM

REWIND AND REMEMBER WITH US... The past few months have been amazing here at Mad About Style, amazing for us personally and for the store! To start, most of us took some much needed R & R after the holidays...we jetted off to Hawaii, Las Vegas and Vancouver to shake off that winter chill and holiday stress! Shortly after we set off to LA and Vegas for MAD'S Spring buying trip where we excitedly collected gorgeous pieces to fill the store come March.

Despite the city's unwillingness to change seasons, as we sit in April with snow and negative signs still apparent in our weather forecast...we continue to embrace spring inside the boutique! As you all arrive in store with your parkas zipped up to your noses we've welcomed you with fresh pastels, bold corals and the luxurious smell of summer with our Voluspa candles! All in high spirits to welcome the warm season soon to come...

Recently, Mad About Style also has officially tackled the bridesmaid dress department and launched a unique venue for brides to find affordable and wearable cocktail style dresses for their big day! In turn, we had set up a fun photo shoot with Bliss Bridal Boutique, Academy Florists and Modern Pixel Photography to officially publicize our debut!

Our biggest month has had to of been the most recent one, March. Moreover it was an important milestone for us as Mad About Style Boutique turned 3 years old! We had a special birthday party planned in celebration with many of you who also shared that night with us! Better yet, we had another birthday the month of March...Henry, nephew to Nicola and MAD's self proclaimed mascot, turned 1 years old! Nicola had the chance to visit her nephew down in Edmonton and shared this incredible milestone with her sister (owner of Robin Egg Blue Design) and family (pictured sitting together on the porch sipping coffee in matching polka dot pajama sets).
We all can not believe how fast time is flying, as we're sure most of you know the same feeling! If you don't already follow us on Instagram, find and follow us @madaboutstyle and experience these special and day to day MAD moments with us as they happen!

STYLE YOUR MANI
x TIBER RIVER
Tiber River has a great pedicure special on for April's Style Your Mani and we thought it would be a good way to introduce some trends we see in fashion to go along with your polish change-ups this spring/summer season! If you visit Tiber River this month, be sure to take advantage of their $10.00 off any style pedicure!
Understated and polished, nude is a perfect shade when you either can't decide on committing to a colour or for those wanting to jump on a trend! In clothing and in nail polish, finding the right shade that compliments your skin tone is important! Good thing there are so many tints within this family so you really have the freedom of being particular to when it comes to your "perfect" nude colour. OPI's My Vampire Is Buff is a great option that is neutral to complimenting most skin tones! And the easy thing is this colour pairs with...anything! (Mad About Style's Pinot Buckle Wedge $59.00 available here/ Second Denim "Peaches n' Cream Skinny Jean available here)
"Daffodil" as In Style magazine labels this trend colour is a definite mood changer! We love this sunny yellow with a touch of shimmer in OPI's "Oy Another Polish Joke" for your toes or take this trend into your clothing! Yellow is often a colour most people shy away from since they find it hard to pair with, however it always flatters and brightens your entire look! If you want to take on this colour this season, try coordinating your yellow pieces with shades of khaki, nude, orange, navy, plums and our favourite pairing: grey! (Mad About Style ombre yellow scarf available in store $29.00)

Monochromatic is such a fun trend you can really make your own! Us girls at MAD have gone as far as a whole denim look or just played with colours to create a "monochromatic" outfit! This doesn't mean your pieces have to be the EXACT same colour, most of the time playing with the same colour family creates more dimension and interest! Some ladies go all out with bright colour as you may have seen on runways and magazines, but we love neutrals this season and especially when creating a "mono" style outfit. You can also do this in a minimal way on your feet with OPI's  "A Woman's Prague-ative" nail polish and our royce wedge in camel (available here) by channeling the same colour family and pairing them together!
