THIS WEEK ON BT
TGIFashion Friday came a bit early this week with the wonderful long weekend for all of us this Easter weekend! We were ready and on set early this past Thursday morning prepped to talk about more closet organizing ideas and rain wear for the wet weather ahead of us!

Nicola came up with some great storing tips for all your closet items that are very cost effective or many of you may already have around these items around the house to put to use! If you missed us this week and want to hear more, watch the first segment here!

Secondly, we dived right into rain wear! All that snow has got to vanish and unfortunately that means puddles and slush for all of us on the go. Without comprising fashion, we styled a traditional look and a new take on the this messy time of year!

FIRST LOOK: "TRADITIONAL" Inspired by Kate Middleton we pulled out this great rain repellant navy trench paired with our favourite Yoga Jeans. To create a sense of spring, we added a punch of fresh colours in our light mint scarf ($29.00) and gorgeous lilac Hunter boots!

SECOND LOOK: "NEW" Inspired by the always trending military coat we changed things up with the colour pallet. Normally we tend to darken the other pieces in our outfit to correspond with the olive green, but we loved the look and mix of olive with nudes!
Our new Yoga Jean in Peaches n' Cream ($119.00) looked AMAZING with our military coat ($95.00) and printed scarf ($29.00). To top it off we added a neutral cropped rain boot and fun umbrella!

Want more details on our outfits? Watch them in action online in our second segment with Breakfast Television here!
Enjoy the long week with family and friends!

TODAY ON BT
On this frigid Friday morning we arrived at Breakfast Television hands full of Spring goodies! Today we chatted about tips on easy Spring cleaning/organizing ideas for all your accessories that tend to accumulate and disappear into piles or drawers! Watch part l as Nicola and Courtney explain easy D.Y.I projects that are also cost effective as they are also fun to look at when you display your favourite pieces!

In our second segment we touched on the always trendy nautical style clothing. Whether in a blazer or dress, nautical can be translated into many different pieces as shown or even into accessories with anchor pendants or graphics! You can decide to wear the classic red, navy and white combo or opt for the unexpected and mix in colours such as orange! Either way a stripe will get long term wear in your closet, so finding your favourite piece is a must!

Have a great weekend!

RALPH CONNOR HOUSE
 x MODERN PIXEL PHOTOGRAPHY

Recently we were involved in a creative photo shoot with Michael Carriere of Modern Pixel Photography at the Ralph Connor House! We had such a good time channeling a rather dark and edgy mood for Mike's creative concept in the old heritage building! Modelling for us was Vanessa Kolthof from Swish Models and hair and make up by Amy McLachlan of Vamp Industries.
Check out some of everyones favourite shots below!

STYLE YOUR MANI
x TIBER RIVER

Spring may not have arrived outside but you'd be fooled entering Mad About Style and Tiber River! If you haven't managed to visit us since we did our Spring flip, our shop is filled with light pastels, bright corals and oranges with dashes of stripes and florals, to name a few... And to add, right now Tiber has their Spring Fling specials to keep those hands fresh with new shellac and OPI shades to match your new MAD spring threads!

On March's edition of Style Your Mani we give you a taste of what we're craving for this Spring by styling your mani's with some of our favourite new colours in our collection!
Coral is such a fun colour thats still bright and nonchalant at the same time, we love it in our 1) shredded sweater ($59.00) and 2) chunky layered chain linked necklace ($35.00)!
Match it with OPI's Suzi's Hungary Again or My Papirika is Hotter than Yours!
The surprise colour of the season has to be lilac! It's so refreshing in not only clothing but in accessories too like our new cross body ($59.00) or your shellac manicure! If lilac is too "purple" for your taste, opt for barely there nudes with pink undertones like Grapefruit Sparkle or Cake Pop.
Neons and splashes of colour are popular for spring and we are loving the hint of lime mixed in our sweetheart neck lined dress ($110.00) matched with Tiber's selection in Shellac and OPI! Check out their Limeade or Azure Wish shades on your next visit to channel this fresh trend!

Get in touch with Tiber River for more details on their specials via website or facebook!
And as always, stay tuned for all our Facebook updates for all new arrivals in Mad About Style Boutique for Spring,

Have a great weekend!

Graphics on tee shirts have of course have always been around but you'll notice it more this time of year on shirts, sweaters etc. With more retailers offering this casual yet fun style you can mix it up with a rather dressy outfit like our anchor printed tee and coral blazer or keep it laid back with a favourite pair of jeans.
